RAMIE (MOSI)

Most attractive characteristics of ramie are the subtle sheen that is reflected off the earthy texture and the crisp hand.  The way it moves in a breeze is elegant and dreamy.  While each thread is pronounced on its surface, its semi-transparency mellows the see-through view.

Ramie is a wonderful eco-friendly alternative to synthetic fiber.  With its long staples, ramie is very strong fiber and has the luster of silk.  It is resistant to bacteria and mildew, which means it won’t rot.  The difficult process of fiber extraction leads to a higher price for ramie fabric, but it is considered as a premium product in high-end fashion and home furnishing industries.
